Hermitage River Projects is a registered charity that aims to promote knowledge and understanding of the Thames, its history, its ecology and the communities using it; to undertake educational initiatives that increase understanding of navigational and boat handling skills; to undertake cultural initiatives that promote and celebrate river heritage; and to encourage the use, preservation and restoration of historic vessels.
Hermitage River Projects also operates the visitor berths at Hermitage and helps to coordinate events at HCM.
The charity operates on the same site as Hermitage Community Moorings, a co-operative which owns and operates a residential mooring at Hermitage Wharf, Wapping.
